Giovanni Taylor's Neighbourhood

Bolton is a small town that is a part of Caledon Ontario and is where I spent most of my childhood growing up. It is made up of a population of just over 25000 people and is quiet place to grow up as a child. It is a very safe town with not a lot of crime. If i were to describe Bolton in one word I would have to say 'peaceful' because it is not known for crime and just a great place to start a family and to raise a child.This blog is about different news stories that I think are interesting and stories that are happening in Bolton today.

Caruso's Stands A Top The Competition

Caruso's Pizza is a gourmet pizza restaurant located on 212 Queen St. South, Bolton Ontario. It has always been known to have the best slice in town and the best pizza in Bolton. The owners of Caruso's are a married couple; Dominic and Dina Caruso.1980 is when Dominic and Dina started serving delicious gourmet pizza out of a small unit they used to rent in Bolton, their goal is to serve delicious fresh food that will attract just about any pizza lover. Dominic and Dina re-located about four years ago to a bigger location where they currently run their restaurant today.

Over the years many pizza places opened up around Bolton, and currently the town has seven other pizza restaurants other than Caruso's; Domino's, Pizza Nova, Pizza Pizza, Pizza Depot, Boston Pizza, Boffo's Pizza, and Pizzaville. In a recent interview Dina was asked "With all of the competition in Bolton how does Caruso's still remain Bolton's favourite?" Dina responded by saying "Well it all starts with the quality, the better the quality the better the pizza" she also said "We do things here that other pizza places don't, we have the freshest produce that you can find, everything is home made and that is the difference." Dina ended the interview by saying "Me and Dominic have been doing this for a long time, we have been using our own recipes , and these franchises are using the same old thing all the time that is why I think our pizza remains so popular even though we have a lot of competition across Bolton."

Customers at Caruso's said "there is nothing better, why would you order from anywhere else in Bolton when Caruso's Pizza is right in town." Another customer said "They make their pizza with love they care about their customers and it shows in their pizza." Customers love Dominic and Dina like they are family. They have serving people in Bolton for over 30 years so what isn't there to love; they love their customers and you can see that; inside the store when you walk in they have framed pictures of their most loyal customers hanging on the wall. Caruso's is still Bolton's best pizza and is a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee and a slice of pizza with your family.

Bolton's Annual Christmas Parade Is Fast Approaching

Every year the town of Bolton has a Christmas Parade. This year it is on December 1 2012 and everyone in the town is extremely excited. The parade runs all across Bolton so everyone from every area can see it. The annual Christmas parade is a good time every year and every year is a new surprise, bringing out different floats and different people participating in it you never know what is going to happen. Family and friends gather together on highway 50 which is where the parade is being held, to watch this great event.

Some local residents in Bolton were interviewed in regards to what they think about the parade and how they spend their day on the day of the parade. A man named Lorenzo was interviewed and he was asked "What do you think about Bolton's annual Christmas parade?" Lorenzo respond by saying " I think it is a great place to bring your family, it is a good day to get up early enjoy a nice breakfast and gather together to watch this fun parade." Lorenzo was also asked "What do you think the best part of the parade is?" He said "Well seeing my kids faces when they see Santa Claus of course I will never get tired of the face they give when Santa is waving at the crowd off of that big float."A man named Marco was also interviewed and he was asked "What does you and your family do on the day of the Bolton Christmas parade?" He responded by saying " Me, my wife and two sons all get up and go to the parade, after the parade, we go out to enjoy lunch and after lunch we go home and throw on Christmas movies that my kids pick out, overall it is a good day and I look forward to days like that every year that is why I love this parade so much, it is a day you get to spend with the ones you love."

The residents of Bolton seemed to really enjoy the parade and seemed to enjoy spending the day with their family and friends. One more person was interviewed his name is Michael and he was asked " Living in Bolton how big do you think the Christmas parade is?" Michael said "Its huge, for this town it is like the only time of the year everyone can get together and really forget about everything and just have a good time, there is really nothing like a community like ours coming together for such a special event." Bolton's Christmas parade should be a success as usual this year, Saturday December 1 should be a great day that will bring the community together.

Starbucks Is Making Its Way To Bolton

For years Bolton has had two Tim Horton locations one in the uptown area of Bolton and one in the downtown area. These two Tim Horton's have been the only place where people in Bolton can go get coffee until now. Bolton will be opening a Starbucks location the grand opening is scheduled for December 6 2012 it will be located where the old KFC and Pizza Hut used to be. A grand opening of a new cafe is well over due; Bolton used to have a place called Williams which was a coffee place and a restaurant but that closed down after about 4 years so to have a Starbucks opening is a big deal for the people of the community.

Some people at the uptown Tim Horton's were interviewed about Starbucks opening up in Bolton and the results were very positive. A women named Maria was asked " Would you go to the Bolton Starbucks for coffee instead of Tim Horton's?" Maria responded by saying " Yes I would go to Starbucks for coffee, personally I like the Starbucks coffee better just I don't want to drive far to get it, that is why I come here but when the Starbucks opens up in Bolton I will be one of the first people in the line." Maria was also was the the question "Do you think it is a good thing that another cafe is opening up in Bolton?" She responded by saying "Yes I think Bolton getting a new coffee place is amazing because we need some change in our town all we have had is Tim Horton's it is about time that people get a choice of what they want to drink." She went on to add " If I am doing things in town I will normally grab myself a coffee from Tim Horton's but when I am on my way to work in the morning i will go out of my way to get a Starbucks coffee."

Another person that was inside of the uptown Tim Horton's was interviewed and also had positive things to say about Starbucks opening. A man named Joseph was asked "would go go to Starbucks to buy your coffee instead of Tim Horton's?" He said " No I would not go to Starbucks to buy coffee, I would come to Tim Horton's for that but everything else I would go to Starbucks for." He continued by saying " I would go there to buy their cold drinks because I find them delicious and also I love the sweets they serve there, so Bolton getting a Starbucks is going to be a great thing for this town." So over all it seemed like the customers at Tim Horton's liked the idea of Bolton getting a Starbucks soon the location will be opened for everyone to try it and when grand opening comes it should be very busy.

The future looks bright for this small town and the addition of a Starbucks is just one of the many great things that is to happen to Bolton. The Christmas parade coming up December 1st is going to be an exciting thing for the community and a great way to bring everybody together. Bolton will continue to be a good place to raise a family and a perfect place to grow up.
